Function

The TS30 will read and encode plastic or paper tickets, and print along the ticket when paper ticket stock is used. With a feeder attached it will feed, cut to length, encode, print  and issue the ticket. It can be interfaced to a display and coin mechanism, so that the value of the coins inserted can be displayed, and when an appropriate sum has been collected, a ticket can be issued as required. These functions may be controlled by the integral microprocessor, or from an external source via the RS232 port using a simple software menu, (8 data bits, 1 stop bit, 9600 baud std).

Mechanics

The unit consists of two main sections. The feeder section feeds stock though a guillotine and cuts it to the required length. The cut ticket is then ready to be fed into the encoder. The encoder section will encode the ticket, and then verify the encoding by reading back from the ticket. It will then print the ticket and pass it to the ticket exit. This operation is unaffected by the presence of the feeder, enabling the reading of pass or staff cards when used to control an entrance. The encoder can be supplied with or without the feeder attached.

Control Board

The microprocessor based control board contains optical sensors to monitor the presence and position of the tickets and has an RS232 connection to allow  the TS30 to be controlled or monitored when used in a stand alone mode. There are four volt free inputs and  three volt free output relays capable of switching up to 24 volts AC or DC and an interface for the optional display and electronic coin handling.

Magnetics

Both centre stripe or side stripe ISO track 2 can be encoded at 75 bits per inch. The read and encode head requires no adjustment throughout it's working life. Replacement is simple with two screws and a plug.  No adjustment is required.

Tickets

Plastic or card up to 0.5mm thickness can be accepted into the encoder section, although when a print head is fitted, the maximum thickness is limited to 0.35mm. Paper/card stock for use when feeding is 0.2mm thick and 54mm wide, fanfold standard. Roll stock could also be used

Print

An easily replaceable ink roller is fitted and a seven needle print head is used to print along the ticket in one or two positions. Up to 40 characters can be printed, which can be 3mm or 5mm in height.

Cash Handling

The TS30 can be interfaced to an electronic coin validator capable of accepting up to 14 different coins. It is also possible to use a coin re-circulating change-giving mechanism.

Displays

Our standard large, clear LCD can be used to show the fee, time and other messages as required. It will also display the machine codes 0-9. Alternative displays could be used.

Power

The mechanism requires 24 volts DC ±5%. The control board generates its own 5V supply and RS232 voltages. When used only for reading & encoding, the maximum current consumption is 1A. With one print head the unit will consume a maximum of 3A,.and with two print heads a maximum of 5A.

Dimensions

Without the  feeder, the encoder/reader is 240mm long x 140mm wide x 130mm high and weighs approximately 3kg. When fitted with the  feeder the mechanism is 380mm long x 140mm wide x 130mm and weighs approximately 4.5kg.
